Part D or not to Part D

If you receive Medicare Part A and/or Part B, you will eligable to sign up for the new RX insurance card. Most people will have to pay a premium, and these premiums may vary depending upon the type of plan selected.

The plans are being sold by private insurance companies, but you may elect to have the premium deducted from your social security check.

If you already have prescription coverage through a Medicare Advantage Plan, Private Insurance Plan, etc. you may not have to sign up for a Part D plan. In fact, it may be to your disadvantage to do so. Be sure and check with your current insurance company to be sure.
