Unemployment Health Plans

With rising unemployment and a shaky financial climate, many Americans are concerned about their job stability. One of the first losses people suffer, in addition to income, is the loss of a group health plan. To find the best health plan for yourself, and your family, it is important to consider your own family situation. This is always true, but to find unemployment health insurance, you need to consider more things as well.

Will you fall under COBRA law protection, and be able to extend your group coverage while unemployed. If so, how much will it cost you? If you could buy an individual health insurance plan for less, would that be a good idea? These are the sorts of questions you should ask before you make a decision.

For some families, especially young and healthy ones, an individual health insurance quote may be a good step. Older and less healthy people may want to hand onto group coverage any almost any cost.

You should talk to your ocmpany human resources department and a qualified insurance agent to figure out the course that is right for you. There is no one-size-fits all solution for everybody.
